Frustration
Posted On: September 30, 2010 by Wesley Rainey
Today was a turning point for Wes and the Fat Guy. Marh and I had it out today at the gym when he walked in. This type of thing happens all the time when people are working together to accomplish a goal and the results aren’t immediate. To make a long story short, neither Marh nor I were happy with what we perceived as the other persons efforts. When Marh is at the gym which is only 3 or 4 hours out of the week he gives it his absolute all. I would kill for everyone I train to work as hard as he does. Usually that kind of effort is rewarded by constant weight loss. So I assumed that he wasn’t holding up his diet or his activity level outside of the gym. That is where the $*!# hit the fan. Marh was upset that he was working out just as hard and trying to eat as clean as possible and hadn’t dropped any weight lately. After a very loud exchange we had lost the fact that Marh has lost more than 50lbs in about 4 months. That type of weight loss is not sustainable. You are going to hit walls or plateaus and hopefully you have someone there to blame or yell at to get your frustration out and help you move past it. Quit thinking about how long it has been since you have lost weight and think about how your old clothes don’t fit anymore. Your effort isn’t always going to show on the scale. Keep your eyes on the main goal and like we have said before set small goals that eventually lead you to the BIG goal.Get out and be active!
